Daytona Beach has much to offer its permanent residents, as well as its frequent visitors. Daytona Beach is home to the World Famous Daytona Beach and the Halifax River. Daytona International Speedway has events occurring throughout the year; The Daytona 500, The 24 hours of Daytona, The Coke Zero 400 celebrating America's independence, and the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Daytona Beach hosts one of the top rated Flea markets in the U.S., the Daytona Beach Flea Market. You can also catch a movie in Daytona Beach at the R/C Ocean Walk Movies, a live band at the Band Shell, and stroll the Boardwalk.  Daytona Beach also has the Daytona Beach Kennel Club and Daytona Beach Poker Room. There are plenty of things to do just steps outside of your apartment in Daytona Beach.

Shopping in Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach has a platitude of shopping opportunities. The Volusia Mall, located in the heart of Daytona Beach, offers premier shopping with Macy's, Dillards, Sears, and JC Penny's. The Volusia Mall is conveniently located close to many apartments, so it is perfect for a quick, last minute shopping trip.  There are lots of restaurants to go to around the mall, including the world famous Krispy Kreme Doughnuts on the corner of International Speedway and Nova Road.  On Daytona Beach there is the Ocean Walk Shoppes with shopping and fine dining including Bubba Gump Shrimp, Sloppy Joes, Wing House, and Mai Tai Bar.  Grab a Burger at Johnny Rockets or a coffee at Starbucks.  There are several other shopping centers located throughout Daytona Beach that allow for convenient shopping in all areas of Daytona Beach.

Business Community of Daytona Beach

There is a healthy business community in Daytona Beach. The most common industries of Daytona Beach include health care, construction, finance, insurance, educational services, professional, scientific, and technical services, and accommodation and food services. The major employers in Daytona Beach include the Gambro-Renal Products (medical manufacturing); Brown & Brown, Inc. (insurance); Enrichment Industries (vocational rehabilitation/manufacturing/assembly); Crane Cam (automotive manufacturing); Advanced Ordnance (military hardware); X1R (auto lubricants); Raydon (simulators); Piedmont Plastics, Inc. (plastics manufacturing); Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (aviation-aerospace education); Halifax Community Health Systems and Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center (hospitals/healthcare); and Consolidated-Tomoka Land Co. (land development). Daytona Beach is also home to the Ocean Center which holds conventions, Concerts, and local events. The Daytona Beach International Airport is conveniently located behind the Speedway. While Daytona Beach does boast a growing business community that allows apartment renters and homeowners the option of working close to home, some residents still choose to commute to Orlando, which is about 45 minutes southwest by way of I-4.

Traffic and Driving in Daytona Beach

Traffic can rarely be a problem when driving in Daytona Beach. Congestion most often occurs on International Speedway Blvd since there are many commuters trying to get on and off I-4 and I-95.  It is also packed with shopping and dining.  During Bike Week and Spring Break traffic can be very busy especially on International Speedway Blvd and Atlantic Blvd.  The Bridges across the Halifax River can get congested with Beach goers and of course Atlantic Avenue; because of all the shopping, dinning, tourists, and beach goers.  Main roads in Daytona Beach include  International Speedway Blvd,  Nova Road, LPGA Boulevard, Beville Road, Clyde Morris, City Avenue, and Atlantic Boulevard. There are apartments located along several main roads in Daytona Beach… renting one of these apartments  can help cut travel time when trying to get to around Daytona Beach.
